The Nest, estructura de ramas tejidas en el bosque de Dreamsea

Work · Portals and spaces

A threshold can be much more than a place you pass through.

I'm interested in moments of transition. That instant between one place and another, between what we leave behind and what is about to begin.

Portals and spaces

Some of my works grow from a simple idea: changing the way we move through a space. Portals, tunnels and walk-in structures that spark curiosity and a different relationship with the surroundings.

The Nest

Dreamsea · Costa Rica

A nest of woven branches in the middle of the dry forest, made to step into, wander through and stay a while.

Every corridor and every wall comes from branches worked by hand and woven one by one, until the structure holds itself up. Forest light passes through the weave and draws different shadows at every hour of the day.

I always say it's a pleasure to leave my work in places as natural as this one.

Symbiosis

L’Estanco · Tamarindo

A tunnel woven from branches where nature and art become one.

Hidden in the heart of Tamarindo, it invites you to pause and take a breath. By day the plants grow through it, and at night warm light turns it into a passage to a slower rhythm.

Forest portal

Playa Grande · Costa Rica

The portal doesn't lead to another place. It leads to another way of seeing this one.

I built it branch by branch in a forest clearing, right where it stands today. Driftwood trunks worked by hand curve until they meet at the top and frame the landscape.

A driftwood arch that travels and turns a beach, a garden or a hall into an altar.

It's designed for weddings and events looking for something authentic and natural, and it's available to rent.

Numandi

Costa Rica

A portal that grows among the trees.

The branches rise, cross and close into a point, resting on the trunks that were already there. The work takes the trees into its shape, like an entrance the forest opened on its own.

Custom

A portal for your space.

I design and build custom portals, tunnels and structures for hotels, restaurants, homes and events. Each one starts from the place where it will live.
